Robert “Bob” Lewandowski, 85 of Sanford passed away Wednesday April 10, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday May 18, 2024 at St Thomas Episcopal Church. The family will greet friends following the service.Bob was born in Brooklyn, NY son of the late Zane Lewandowski and Anna Guzek Lewandowski. He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Jarod and his sister, Dolores Danuck. He was a very talented man who taught and played the accordion, enjoyed playing softball, major league baseball, college sports, bowling, working puzzles and was a great mechanic.Mr. Lewandowski is survived by his wife, Patricia Dempsey Lewandowski; sons James Daniel Lewandowski (Rhonda) of TN, and Kenneth Zane Lewandowski (Janet) of VA, Robert Allan Lewandowski (Cheri) of MO, and David Michael Lewandowski (Tricia) of CA; grandchildren, Steven, Megan, Kerry, Dana, Sydney, Timmothy, Heather, Chrissy, Tiffani, Brittani, and Melani; 18 great grandchildren. It also depends on what kind of people you had around when you were young,” he says.“At the time I didn’t know. But after so many years, I know that my parents helped me a lot. They include Nines, a sports bar, and Stor9, a creative production agency.He is interested in biotechnology and is a co-owner of Bio-Lider, a Polish company that makes eco-friendly fertilizers for farming. The company is also starting to produce fertilizers for grass for golf courses and soccer fields.“I don’t have one way to invest money,” Lewandowski says.“More important for me is with who I invest the money.”Some investments are more focused on personal passions than others. He has ventured into padel, as a team owner for the Hexagon Cup competition.Lewandowski took up padel after moving to Barcelona in 2022 and often plays on his days off. Long popular in Spain, the sport is rapidly growing globally. With each successful season, the pressure and expectation — especially for a striker whose primary job is scoring goals — has only increased.“I know that I will deal with the pressure, with the expectation for the whole year and I cannot be afraid,” he says.“A few years ago, I started to take this expectation from another side — to give me more power and make me more motivated.“Of course, sometimes it’s tough.
