Most of time, just convert the picture in normalmsp directly bring the same result, but you have to take a lot of time to convert a greyscale photo into a good valued heightmap, and its not easy…Thats why to me, sculpting and painting in the same time is the best solution to match perfectly geometry, color and have a good scaled heightmap, then normalmap.The thing is bypainting and sculpting in same time, it gets difficult to have a good feeling of the depth of the sculping…Hope to see a tutorial soon!
